Distillery

St. George Spirits was founded as an eau de vie distillery in 1982 by Jorg Rupf. Needing great amounts of space for the operation, the company was set up in a hangar at the old Alameda Naval Air Station[4]. The distillery first began producing vodka in 2001 with the aid of Ansley Coale from Germain-Robin[5]. The distillery is open to the public for tours and tastings, and is a popular San Francisco event location.[6]

Ownership

Hangar One Vodka is made by St. George Spirits and the brand is owned and distributed by Proximo Spirits of Jersey City, NJ.

Awards

The Mandarin Blossom flavour received a score of "96-100" in 2011, while the unflavored vodka was given a score of "90-95" in that same year.[7]
